Robbs Hut

Sitting on top of Robbs Peak, from the deck of Robbs Hut you have a spectacular 360 degree view of the forest and Crystal Range.  The hut was constructed in 1934, and was an active fire lookout every summer until 1978. The tour to Robbs Peak is not recommended for beginner skiers.

Sleeps up to 6, the hut rents for $45.00 per night.
There are propane lights, heat, and cookstove. No electricity. There is no water, you will need to melt snow or bring your own. Reservations can be made 7-180 days in advance of your first nights stay.

Van Vleck Bunkhouse

Located on the edge of a 40 acre meadow Van Vleck Bunkhouse looks up on the Crystal Range of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.  The hut was built in 1957, the bunkhouse is the last remnant of the Van Vleck Ranch site, which was operated as a cattle ranch from the 1860's to the 1960's. Since acquiring the facility in 1997, the Forest Service has renovated the Bunkhouse to make it available to the public.

Sleeps up to 8, the hut rents for $65.00 per night.
This hut has propane lights and a gas log stove. Please pack out your garbage.
Reservations can be made 7-180 days in advance of first nights stay. Primary winter access is for intermediate and advanced skiers and snowshoers.
